The easiest way to understand the Silver Music Studios teaching style is to start with a name with which you may already be familiar: local jazz guitar legend Chuck Anderson, who has been training career musicians for more than thirty-five years.

Chuck Anderson's professional career began at the age of 21, when he joined the Latin Casino, where he played with legendary performers such as Bobby Darin, Michel LeGrand, Nancy Wilson, Peggy Lee, and Billy Eckstein. Three years later, Mr. Anderson formed the Chuck Anderson Trio. Together they recorded Mirror Within a Mirror, his first Jazz album.

Other CDs to his credit are:

  • Passages from the End of Autumn
  • Kaleidophon
  • The Art of the Neo-Classical Guitar
  • Christmas Wishes
  • The International Collection
  • Angel Blue
  • Music from the Light
  • The Vintage Tracks

Mr. Anderson has been endorsed by Gibson Guitar and Marin Guitar, and is a member of the Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts' International Advisory Board (Paul McCartney's school in Liverpool).

Chuck Anderson is equally accomplished as an educator. Before he founded his own private music school, he worked for eight years as director of the Medley Music school. Mr. Anderson's own school employed twelve teachers and served more than four hundred students.

Mr. Anderson's writing credits include:

  • Music Pursuing the Horizon
  • An Improvisational Approach to Rock and Blues Guitar
  • Reflections for Guitar
  • The Modular Phonetic Rhythm System
  • Master Picking and The 6 Secrets of Guitar Fingering including Scale Charting
  • Mastering the Modes
  • The Survival Guide for the Private Music Teacher
  • Rhythm - Music's Universal Language

Music should be a personal expression and not an endless series of exercises. The technical, aural, theoretical and creative facets of music must be explored to discover the possibilities of expression through discipline. There is no freedom without discipline and no useful long term discipline without the freedom of creativity.
