Meet Scot Silver

Scot Silver

Scot Silver is a classically trained musician and writer. A classical performance major at West Chester University from 1987 to 1991, he earned the Hal Simons Memorial Award for Excellence in Music. Scot studied under Glenn Lyons while performing with the West Chester Classical Guitar Ensemble. Scot advanced his jazz and pop playing through studies under Chuck Anderson, with whom he studied for fifteen years. During that period, he began writing for both band and solo guitar.

In 1996, Scot opened the first of his two teaching studios. Silver Music Studios has developed into a successful teaching and recording facility for people of all ages and musical interests. Mr. Silver has also created "Jam Sessions," an educational product which includes a booklet and tape/cd used in aiding the student's improvisational development.

In addition to running the studio, Scot still performs regularly. He leads a guitar/flute duo (Adagio), a party band (Horizon), a guitar/sax jazz duo (TAG) and is a member of the jazz group the Mad Jazzsters. In addition, he has developed original vocal and instrumental projects (including The Nerve, the funky, folky progressive rock band and his newly released solo CD, Odyssey, of all-original, all-guitar compositions). Check the live performance schedule to see when and where the Silver Music Studio groups are performing next.
